TORONTO and MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 10, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Ceridian (NYSE: CDAY; TSX: CDAY), a global leader in human capital management (HCM) technology, today released the results from its annual Executive Survey focused on the power of mobilizing the boundless workforce. The survey revealed 85% of leaders feel confident their organizations will achieve their 2023 goals and 75% see strong revenue growth ahead. Additionally, eight out of 10 survey respondents said their workforce has the skills to meet organizational performance goals in the next two years.
At the same time, the results uncovered friction between the positive outlook for operating results and a growing complexity crisis. 92% of respondents see workforce challenges like employee attraction, engagement, and retention, in addition to compliance complexities creating risks for their organization’s ability to achieve its goals in the next year.

The survey polled more than 2,000 business leaders at the director level or above across seven countries, in companies with at least 1,000 employees. The research shows leaders globally have begun embracing modern technology and reimagined talent strategies to help elevate their people operations and unlock efficiencies, however, there is still work to do in a number of critical areas including:
- Using technology to maximize productivity: 81% of respondents said their organization uses artificial intelligence (AI) to replace repetitive tasks, which three-quarters of these respondents say increases productivity and efficiency. But less than half of the leaders surveyed said their organizations are using technology to optimize skills usage throughout the business.
- Optimizing use of contingent workers: 80% of surveyed organizations currently employ contingent workers, with the majority (65%) saying they will increase their reliance on these workers in the next two years. However, 70% say they are somewhat or strongly challenged when integrating them into their workforce, and nearly half (44%) say finding contingent workers with specific skills presents issues.
- Simplifying internal mobility: 74% of surveyed leaders expect internal mobility to increase in their organizations in the next two years. With respondents ranking engagement and retention (55%) as their top roadblocks to achieving their organizational priorities and goals, followed by labor and skills shortages (50%), harnessing internal mobility opportunities will help give workers the flexible careers they want while fostering higher organizational performance and productivity.

Hanover Research conducted Ceridian’s Executive Survey research study online from May 8 to May 30, 2023. The study included 2,020 respondents with a margin of error of ±2.07%. ComplyCube Unveils No-ID Age Estimation to Address Growing Global Age-Restriction Regulations
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 2, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — ComplyCube, the global Identity Verification (IDV) platform, has launched a new Age Estimation feature to safeguard minors online and protect the vulnerable. The new capability complements its existing IDV-based Age Verification solution, offering an alternative to businesses that require a lower level of identity assurance.
The AI company says the new solution leverages advanced biometric technology to derive dependable age estimations from a single selfie in seconds. The bias-tested algorithm also examines the selfie for liveness signals to prevent presentation attacks, including screen replays, 3D masks, and deepfakes.
Furthermore, the new service boasts privacy-by-design capabilities, such as configurable automatic redaction for selfies customizable per jurisdictional regulations or use cases. This makes the service ideal for seamless age-gating across the globe while adding an extra layer of protection against spoofing.

The introduction of the new features comes as concerns mount over the ease with which minors can access inappropriate digital content. While some age-verification measures have been put in place, they are disturbingly simple to evade, especially when they are based solely on entering a birth date or are vulnerable to Virtual Private Network (VPN) manipulation. A UK-based study reports that 23% of minors say they can easily sidestep such VPN limitations, while another study highlights that a staggering 56% of children aged 11 to 16 have encountered explicit material online.
In response to these growing concerns, various jurisdictions are introducing robust regulatory frameworks aimed at mandating more rigorous age-verification procedures to enhance the safety of minors online. Key legislative efforts include the UK’s Online Safety Bill, the European Union’s Digital Services Act, and California’s Age-Appropriate Design Code Act. These laws aim to establish stricter guidelines and obligations for digital platforms, thereby creating a safer online environment for younger users.
