LogiframeAsia’s leading accounting consultancy firm, was announced as the winner of Xero Awards 2019 – Asia Accounting Partner of the Year[1]. Organised by Xero, the global leader in cloud accounting, the inaugural award celebrates excellence in the accounting industry. It recognises industry leading cloud accounting firms for their outstanding effort in embracing cloud technology and supporting business clients to achieve success.

Founded in 2013 and a Xero partner from the beginning, Logiframe has leveraged cloud technology to rapidly grow its business in Indonesia. According to Google-Temasek’s e-Conomy SEA 2019 report, Indonesia is the fastest growing internet economy that is set to triple to US$130 billion by 2025.

Today, SMEs account for more than 99% of businesses in Indonesia and employ over 95% of the country’s workforce, which represents the critical role they play in the country’s GDP. In 2017, Indonesia’s Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition (KPPU) issued a report which concluded that SMEs which leverage technology can aim to achieve an 80% increase in revenue growth, which would have a direct impact on Indonesia’s overall economic performance.

Wienanto Tanuwidjaja, Founder and CEO, Logiframe Consulting said: “In line with the Indonesian government’s initiatives to drive SME digitalisation, Logiframe aims to become strategic advisors to businesses and help them to tap into the burgeoning digital economy. At Logiframe, we are deeply committed to delivering excellence for our clients, and technology has empowered us to improve productivity and accuracy, leaving more time to focus on financial analysis and accounting advisory work that generates greater value-add for long-term success.”

Kevin Fitzgerald, Managing Director – Asia, Xero said: “Modern accountants need to embrace cloud technology in order to remain competitive and succeed. As Xero’s first platinum partner in Indonesia, Logiframe has taken incredible strides to integrate cloud technology into their business to become both an accounting pacesetter and a technology leader. By embracing cloud, they are able to better serve as business advisors to their clients through complex advisory work such as financial analysis and technology implementation. By championing a cloud-led business, it will lay a strong foundation for Logiframe to scale their business with ease, while delivering exemplary, impactful services to their clients.”

“Cloud accounting is one of the core foundations and key recipe for business success. By leveraging cloud accounting, business owners can gain access to the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning that automate a large chunk of administrative, manual processes. It also means real-time visibility into business performance and having financial data at their fingertips to make informed business decisions. Most importantly, cloud accounting technology is inexpensive and easily accessible to businesses of all types, both large and small. It is highly scalable as the business grows and expands overseas,” says Wienanto.

LSU CS Professor Studies COVID-19 Disparities on Social Media

BATON ROUGE, La., July 01, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — During the COVID-19 pandemic, a plethora of information has gone out from various news sources about how the virus is being tracked, how it is spread, how many cases exist, and so forth. The problem is much of this vital information can be inaccurate, leaving people to ignore advice from public officials. For this reason, LSU Computer Science and Engineering Assistant Professor Kisung Lee and LSU Environmental Sciences Professor Nina Lam are evaluating how a population reacts to multiple sources of information, hoping to eliminate disparities in the messaging.“Studying different COVID-19 responses to trustworthy information will contribute new perspectives and improve our fundamental understanding of the human aspects of information trustworthiness during a pandemic,” Lee said.Lee, principal investigator on the project, and Lam recently received a $200,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for the project and will have University of Washington Center for Studies in Demography & Ecology Director Sara Curran and Cybersecurity Research Fellow Jessica Beyer work alongside them.Lee will collect and analyze Twitter and linked media data using artificial intelligence-based techniques; Lam will map the data into administrative regions and analyze the data geographically (state- and county-level comparisons); and Curran and Beyer will collect policy and media source trustworthiness data and analyze it with other contextual information, such as media framing. Data will be collected and analyzed in Louisiana and Washington. They will collect three waves of Twitter and associated data to compare sentiment and language use patterns among users and analyze how these characteristics evolve through the recognition of the emergency, the peak of the crisis, and the mitigation of the pandemic in the U.S. The tweets and entities will be classified for relevance (individual, organization, or bot) with derived age and location. The tweets will be associated with daily disease-specific rates and annual demographic and socio-economic information.“Data about the surrounding information context, including reporting trends and framing of the crisis, sources of health information, and information-seeking behavior about COVID-19, will provide tools for assessing the validity and reliability of our inferences about the patterns of sentiment and language use,” Lee said. “This project will provide insight for targeting effective public messaging by public health and government officials during a crisis and ultimately improve disaster resilience.”Like us on Facebook (@lsuengineering) or follow us on Twitter and Instagram (@lsuengineering).Josh Duplechain
