Meta AI Assistant Adds Website, Expands Beyond US

Meta’s latest update introduces Meta AI, powered by their new large language model (LLM), Meta Llama 3. This AI assistant is now available for free use on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, as well as on the web through the meta.ai website. Additionally, Meta AI is expanding its availability to more countries, beyond just the United States, with English language support in over a dozen countries.
These updates are specifically for Meta AI on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and the web. However, Meta AI is also accessible in the U.S. through Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and will soon be available on Meta Quest. With Meta’s most powerful large language model, the company promises that Meta AI is now better than ever.
One notable improvement is the faster image generation capability of Meta AI, allowing it to produce images in real-time as users type. This feature is currently in beta on WhatsApp and the Meta AI website in the U.S.
Meta AI is seamlessly integrated into Meta’s suite of apps, enabling users to access real-time information from the web without leaving the app environment. For example, users can plan a ski trip in a Messenger group chat and use Meta AI to search for flights and find the least crowded weekends to travel, all within the Messenger app.
Meta initially launched the beta version of Meta AI in September 2023, with features including real-time information retrieval and the generation of photorealistic images from text prompts. Now, with Meta Llama 3 powering Meta AI, users can expect even more advanced capabilities and improved performance.
